Lansdowne Borough Council Reorganization Meeting
Tuesday — January 3, 2006
The Lansdowne Borough Council Reorganization Meeting was held on Tuesday,
January 3, 2006, 7:30 PM at the Twentieth Century Club. Present were Mr. Wayne, Ms. Coleman, Ms. Hill, Mr. Lee, Ms. Lustgarten, Mr. Urban and Mr. Wagner. Mayor Young, Treasurer Asciutto and Solicitor Scott were absent.
Ms. Hill appointed Mr. Wayne to serve as Presiding Officer until such time as a President is elected.
Mr. Wayne led the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Wayne introduced Lansdowne's 2005-2006 Poet Laureate Dan Simpson who presented his poem of renewal in honor of the New Year and the newly elected Borough Council members.
Judge John J. Perfitti then swore in the newly elected Borough Council members: Kevin Lee, Sharon Coleman, Ellen Lustgarten, Joe Urban and Stephen Wagner. Judge Perfitti then swore in Dale Nupp as Tax Collector and Carole Withers as Auditor.
Nominations for Council President
Ms. Hill moved to nominate Gene Wayne for Borough Council President. Ms.
Coleman seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Nominations for Council Vice President
Ms. Hill moved to nominate Sharon P. Coleman for Borough Council Vice President. Ms. Lustgarten seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS :
- Ms. Coleman moved to appoint Robert W. Scott as Borough Solicitor. Ms. Lee seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
- Ms. Coleman moved to appoint Bertha Phillips as Vacancy Board Chair. Mr. Lee seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
- Ms. Coleman moved to appoint Barbara A. Henry as Borough Secretary. Mr. Lee seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Ms. Coleman moved to adopt Resolution No. 2006-01 relating to the conduct of
Council Business. Mr. Wagner seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Ms. Coleman moved to adopt Resolution No. 2006-02 regarding bonding of Borough
officials and employees. Ms. Hill seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Comments from Elected Officials:
- Ms. Coleman thanked the residents for her re-election and stated she will
continue to work hard for the Borough.
- Ms. Hill wished the residents a happy and prosperous New Year and welcomed
the new Borough Council members. Ms. Hill anticipates a year of progress and
innovative accomplishments.
- Mr. Urban thanked all who supported him in this endeavor and gave a special
thanks to Dan Simpson.
- President Wayne welcomed the newly elected Council members.
Visitors
Barbara Sisely, Anthony Campuzano and Marie DeYoung offered their thanks and
congratulations to the new and incumbent Borough Council members.
Ms. Coleman moved to set a time to adjourn to Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 7:30
pm at Borough Hall. Ms. Hill seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Lee moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ms. Hill. The motion carried
unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 8:03 pm.
