Message From The Chief Of Police...
We have had a recent rash of home burglaries the past few days and the
police have taken steps to increase protection and catch the burglar(s). We do
not divulge all that we are doing for obvious reasons but our community's
concerns are our concerns and we are actively investigating and pursuing
all leads. The following links are useful:
Neighborhood Watch and
Burglary Prevention Practices
The most useful tool in our effort to protect our community is the
entire community becoming our eyes and ears so that we maximize our
efforts and work together to keep Lansdowne as safe as possible. Remember,
nothing is insignificant. If it seems suspicious to you, please contact us and we
can investigate further. Better to be safe than sorry.

Housing Crisis Information
Lansdowne Borough Council is very concerned about the National Housing Crisis
facing homeowners who are victims of predatory lending and sub-prime mortgage
foreclosures. This urgent situation can affect anyone at anytime. Maybe you lost
your job. Maybe you have illness in your family and with that the high cost of
health care. Maybe you took advantage of an Adjustable Rate Mortgage which
has ballooned. If you find yourself in this predicament, don’t be a victim.
There is help out there. Council has collected as much information as possible
for Lansdowne residents about relief agencies and programs in this area. Click
Here for
information about and web addresses for several of these agencies.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Household products containing toxic chemicals, like pesticides, oil-based paints, solvents,
cleaning products, weed killers and automotive batteries can be a threat to people and the
environment if improperly discarded. Never throw these materials into the trash as the toxic
chemicals may harm sanitation workers or result in fires in collection vehicles. It is also not
safe to pour them into a sink or a storm drain as they end up in the environment polluting the
air, water, or soil.

Borough Council Meeting VHS tapes now available from Lansdowne Public Library!
The Borough of Lansdowne is happy to announce that VHS videotapes of the monthly televised Borough

are regularly broadcast via Comcast cable. As a service to our many residents who are are not Comcast customers
or do not have cable service, these meetings can be checked out of the Lansdowne Public Library. Because not
