Sunday28th Unique Blessing Mass for Service Animals & Partners at Lansdowne St. John's Episcopal -Lansdowne, Pa. Fr. Ken Wissler, Pastor of St. John the Evangelist's Episcopal Church, will bless service animals such as guide dogs for the blind, helper and companion animals, and fire, police and rescue-search working dogs at a special Blessing Mass on Sunday, September 28th at 10:30 am. Prayers will be offered for these teams of God's creatures: working animals and their human partners.
“The relationship between these highly intelligent animal protectors and guides and their human partners is truly remarkable,” Fr. Ken says. “To see an animal and human work together is to see a near perfect example of faith.”
The Blessing of Animals is an ancient observance held around the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi (usually October 4), the Patron Saint of Animals. Fr. Ken will also offer a Blessing of Pets on the lawn the same day (Sept. 28th) at 12:15 pm. Both events will be held at St. John the Evangelist's Episcopal Church, an inclusive Christian Community in the Anglican Tradition. St. John's is located at the intersection of South Lansdowne Avenue and West Baltimore Avenues in Lansdowne.
There is a Septa bus stop at this intersection. For further information call 610-823-3731 or visit www.StJohnsLansdowne.org
