The Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation
The Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation, (LEDC), is committed to encouraging sustainable economic growth in Lansdowne Borough. As part of our mission, LEDC successfully designated Lansdowne as a Pennsylvania Main Street community in 2005 and are now implementing local grant programs and other local events based on the Main Street program model.
Eleven board members and dozens of volunteers — all Lansdowne residents or business owners — work strategically to build strong partnerships within Lansdowne's business and residential communities that will become the cornerstone of Lansdowne's future. Everyone in Lansdowne can make a significant contribution to our town's future. Our initial projects include a downtown facade improvement program, a survey of Lansdowne businesses, (delete and) a plan to market our downtown to consumers and developers, and participation in the Sherwin Williams Neighbor to Neighbor program to benefit all Lansdowne residents and business owners.
For more information about LEDC economic development activities, events, promotions or to volunteer, visit http://www.LansdownesFuture.org/ or email gary@LansdownesFuture.org or stop by the LEDC Main Street Office at 12 S. Lansdowne Ave.
The LEDC is a volunteer, non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation designated as a public charity for the benefit of the Lansdowne Community.
The Lansdowne Human Relations Commission is a non-partisan body which educates the community in order to prevent discrimination and administers Lansdowne's anti-discrimination ordinance 1215 which is available on the Borough website. To reach us, email us at hrc@lansdowneborough.com. Additional information on Pennsylvania's Human Relations Commission and anti-discrimination law can be found at www.phrc.state.pa.us.

Meals
On Wheels
The Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) is
the oldest and largest organization in the United States
representing those who provide meal services to the
elderly. The Association provides education, training,
and development opportunities, enabling its members
to provide quality nutrition services and programs to
the elderly.
MOWAA's mission is to work toward the social, physical,
nutritional and economic betterment of vulnerable Americans.
The guiding principle is to help those who are elderly,
homebound, disabled, frail or at risk. MOWAA never loses
sight of those whom they seek to serve. Nearly 900 meal
programs in communities throughout the United States
are members of MOWAA. These programs rely on more than
300,000 volunteers to help prepare, serve, or deliver
the more than 1 million meals each day that the elderly
nutrition programs provide. Volunteers are needed for
Meals on Wheels.
