Lansdowne Borough Council Reorganization Meeting - Monday - January 7, 2008

The Lansdowne Borough Council Reorganization Meeting was held on Tuesday, January 7, 2008, 7:00 PM at the Twentieth Century Club. Present were President Wayne, Ms. Coleman, Mr. Lee, Ms. Lustgarten, Ms. Silzle, Mr. Urban, Mr. Wagner, Mayor Young, Borough Secretary Henry, Borough Manager Totaro and Borough Engineer Bevilacqua. Colin Hueston, Esq. sat in for Solicitor Scott. Interim Borough Treasurer Smith and Borough Solicitor Scott were absent.

Mayor Young led the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Young swore in the newly elected Borough Council members: Gene Wayne, Stephen Wagner and Barbara Silzle. Mayor Young swore in Robert B. Radich as Auditor.

Nominations for Council President

Ms. Coleman moved to nominate Gene Wayne for Borough Council President. Ms. Lustgarten seconded and a roll call vote was taken. The motion carried unanimously.

Nominations for Council Vice President

Mr. Urban moved to nominate Sharon P. Coleman for Borough Council Vice President. Mr. Wagner seconded and a roll call vote was taken. The motion carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

Mr. Lee moved to appoint Robert W. Scott as Borough Solicitor. Mr. Wagner seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Urban moved to appoint Pennoni Associates Inc./Richard J. Bevilacqua, P.E. as Borough Engineer. Mr. Wagner seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Ms. Coleman moved to appoint Bertha Phillips as Vacancy Board Chair. Mr. Wagner seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Wagner moved to appoint Barbara A. Henry as Borough Secretary. Ms. Lustgarten seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Ms. Lustgarten moved to appoint William T. Smith interim Borough Treasurer. Mr. Lee seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Ms. Lustgarten moved to adopt Resolution 2008-1, a resolution authorizing the issuance of a Tax and Revenue Anticipation Note in the principal amount of $500,000. Mr. Lee seconded and a roll call vote was taken. The motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Lee moved to set a time to adjourn until Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. Mr. Wagner seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
