Civil Service Commission
Responsible for each and every appointment and promotion in the police force within the Borough according to qualification and fitness by examination on a competitive basis. The Civil Service Commission has the power to prescribe, amend, and enforce the rules and regulations approved by Borough Council.

Code Appeals Board
Meets to hear appeals of a decision of the Borough Code Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector pertaining to the BOCA & Life Safety Codes by any aggrieved person, firm, or corporation.

Environmental Advisory Council
The Environmental Advisory Council shall advise Borough Council and Borough Committees, and educate the citizens of the Borough, on matters that affect the quality of the environment in the borough, including those relating to the protection, conservation, management, promotion, and use of natural resources, including air, land and water resources located within the Borough

Historic Architecture Review Board
The Historic Architectural Review Board ("HARB") makes recommendations to Borough Council regarding the advisability of issuing any Certificate of Appropriateness ("COA") required to be issued in the historic districts of the Borough.

Human Relations Commission

Library Board
The mission of the Library is to enlighten and enrich individuals by providing equal access to quality information and superior services to meet the changing informational, educational, and cultural needs of the Lansdowne community. The library is committed to strengthening the diverse community of Lansdowne by advancing knowledge, promoting literacy, and fostering lifelong learning to improve the quality of life.

Park & Recreation Board
The purpose of this organization is to maintain, operate and supervise the public parks, play-fields and all outdoor recreation areas and facilities owned or operated by the Borough of Lansdowne subject to the approval of Borough Council.

Planning Commission
Presents and makes recommendations to the governing body concerning zoning ordinances, comprehensive plans, subdivisions, land development, building codes and housing codes of the Borough.

Redevelopment Authority
The Lansdowne Redevelopment Authority operates for the public purposes of the elimination of blighted areas through economically and socially sound redevelopment for residential, recreational, commercial, industrial or other purposes, and otherwise encouraging the provision of healthful homes, a decent living environment and adequate places of employment.

Shade Tree Commission
Promotes the conservation and stewardship of trees throughout the Borough by advising and working with Borough officials, the Department of Public Works and Parks Department regarding the planting, care and maintenance of public property trees and promote the installation and care of trees with respect to heritage and a commitment for a long-term investment in the beauty, health and character of the tree canopy throughout the Borough.

Vacancy Board
The Vacancy Board is responsible to fill any vacancy after thirty days, whether the vacancy occurred in the office of the Mayor, Borough Council or Tax Collector by death, resignation or removal.

Zoning Hearing Board
The Zoning Hearing Board, thorough the guidance of Chapter 330 of the Zoning Code regulates the use of land and the construction and renovation of buildings in Lansdowne Borough in order to: Preserve and enhance Lansdowne's traditional small-town character, protect its historic resources, and revitalize its older areas and more. Promote and support good urban design that fosters a sense of place, pride of place, belonging, and accessibility for all members of the community; Promote and support good urban design that encourages walkability and a vibrant street life
