Statement Regarding Shooting in the Borough January 23, 2021

To the Residents of Lansdowne,

Lansdowne Borough Council and Mayor Campuzano express our concern and frustration with the shooting that occurred in Lansdowne on Saturday, January 23. Despite all of the best precautions and efforts at prevention from the hard work of the Lansdowne Police Department, the actions of individuals who act in irresponsible and dangerous ways destroy the peace we work so hard to achieve in Lansdowne. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family.

We stand behind our Police Department in their efforts to catch the perpetrator. Lansdowne is not immune to crime and crime happens in all communities. Whenever this happens, our community is forced to reckon with the actions of bad actors. However, the efforts of our Lansdowne Police Department to solve and arrest perpetrators in the past demonstrates that in Lansdowne crime does not pay.

If you have any information, please contact the Lansdowne Police Department at 610-623-0700 . In our town, we reject gun violence. And, justice will be served.
