February 22, 2021, Letter from Mayor Tony

Dear Lansdowne Residents and Friends,

I hope this finds everyone well and safe.  As we still are dealing with this challenging issue of the pandemic I do see a light at the end of the tunnel.  I urge everyone to get vaccinated and continue to follow the CDC guidelines.  Please continue to wear a mask.  Doing these things will help this long nightmare end.

As Mayor, I want to congratulate Sgt. Kenneth Rutherford who we hired as our new police Chief.  I feel Kenny proved himself while he served as interim Chief for over five months.

He brings 21 years of police experience, knowledge and a commitment to Lansdowne and also a vision of making our police department one of the best. He will continue the legacy and culture that former Chief Donegan put in place and will start building his own legacy.

I am also happy to announce that we ok’d the purchase of new police body cameras for our officers. I feel that this shows we, as a borough, along with our police department have a strong commitment to quality and transparent law enforcement here in Lansdowne.

Please remember to patronize our local businesses.  They need our support to continue to succeed and I believe they will with our help.  It is encouraging to see a number of new businesses opening up here in Lansdowne.  Looking forward to spring.

See you around town.

Mayor Tony
