PUBLIC NOTICE OF EXAMINATION FOR

POLICE OFFICER

IN THE BOROUGH OF LANSDOWNE POLICE DEPARTMENT


Notice is hereby given that the Civil Service Commission of the Borough of Lansdowne will hold a written examination at the Twentieth Century Club, 84 S. Lansdowne Ave. Lansdowne PA at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 for applicants to qualify for appointment to the position of full-time police officer in the Police Department.


Applicants must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older on the date of application, a High School graduate or equivalent, United States Citizen, possess a valid Driver’s License.  Each applicant must also have graduated or be expecting to graduate a MPOETC certified Police Academy (Act 120 Certified) within thirty (30) days after the application due date.


Applicants will be required to pass the following phases:

  1. Written Examination 

  2. Oral Examination

  3. Physical Agility Examination

  4. Background Examination

  5. Polygraph Examination 

  6. Physical Examination

  7. Psychological Examination


Civil Service applications and complete information packets are available at the Police Department, 12 E. Baltimore Ave. Lansdowne, PA on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.  Completed applications must be returned to the same place on or before 1:00 PM on May 14, 2021.  


There is a fee of $35 to take the examination which must be submitted with the completed application.
