In recognition of the growing needs of the worldwide autistic community and to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorders and the need to provide services to individuals and families who are affected, the United Nations first designated April 2nd as World Autism Awareness Day.
April 2nd, 2022, signifies the 15th Anniversary of Autism Awareness Day and according to the Pennsylvania Autism Census Project approximately 55,000 residents across the state are on the spectrum.
The Borough of Lansdowne respects and values the contributions of all residents and contains numerous businesses and professionals dedicated to raising Autism Awareness and providing resources for the community about Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Lansdowne Borough Council celebrates the work of the businesses and professionals bringing awareness and resources about Autism and Spectrum disorders in our community and resolves to celebrate with community organizations on April 2 nd , 2022 by raising the flag of Autism Awareness on Borough Greene.
