April 22, 2022: Letter from Mayor Magda Byrne

Lansdowne Logo

Hello Lansdowne!

It is finally Spring (said with caution…)! I love Lansdowne in the spring – the trees and flowers are beginning to bloom, the breeze feels wonderful, and best of all; everyone is out and about! There is nothing better than seeing people around town enjoying our beautiful neighborhoods and businesses.

This month, I would like to spend some time talking about how to communicate with the borough. I often hear people say that they are not sure who to contact or where to get information so I thought it would be helpful to highlight the many ways in which you can communicate with myself, council, borough, and Police.

Come visit us!! All of our council and committee meetings are open to the public. You are welcome to come to a council meeting and speak during the public comment section, or you can come to a committee meeting that is focused on your area of concern or interest. Can’t make it in person? Join us via Zoom!!  You can view the meeting schedule and get information on how to join meetings via Zoom here.

Lansdowne currently has a website – www.lansdowneborough.com . We are working to make the site more user friendly, but there is still all sorts of helpful information available. There is information about meetings, trash and recycling, who are your council members, report an issue, request parking or building permits, learn about events going on in town, sign up for the newsletter or see past newsletters, watch or read minutes of past meetings, and so much more! Take some time and check it out.

You can also email us directly!! All of council and I are available via email. You can find a list of all of our email addresses here. Drop us a line!

Social media is also another way to contact us. Lansdowne has a Facebook PageInstagram Pageand TwitterThese are the official pages of Lansdowne Borough. Follow these pages for the latest updates about news and town happenings. Other good Facebook pages to follow are: Lansdowne PoliceChief RutherfordLansdowne Parks & Rec, and Lansdowne Arts Board.

Do you or someone you know prefer to get a paper version of the newsletter? Just send an email to hello@lansdowneborough.com and request that your newsletter be sent in the mail. Be sure to include your name and full address in your message and that you would like a paper newsletter. By the way, you can also sign up for text alerts – create a profile on the Lansdowne Borough website and then you can opt-in to whatever news or alerts you want to receive via text.

Do you have an elderly or new neighbor or maybe you know someone who is just not that technically inclined? Please share this information with them. Share with your new neighbor all the ways they can find out what is going on around town. Help someone sign up for a paper newsletter, and when all else fails, talk to each other. Lansdowne is a small town; chances are someone you know knows someone on council or me and how to get in touch with us.

Council and I are working hard to be as accessible as possible. While we work on making things better, please utilize these resources and share them with your friends and neighbors around town.

Enjoy this beautiful weather and I look forward to seeing you around town!
