McKinley Tot Lot Notes #2 - Clearing and Grubbing!: This efficient contractor is moving fast. After all of the underground utilities were denoted by spray paint on the ground, it was time to start breaking ground. The first step in construction is called, “clearing and grubbing.” Clearing and grubbing is when the contractor clears the construction area of any extraneous surface material that is not needed for the project. Once the area is clear, construction of the new facility can begin! It’s in Section 201 of PennDOT Publication 408 (Specifications). #McKinleyTotLotNotes
