McKinley Tot Lot Notes # 3 - Getting Ready for New Curb! The existing stone curb will removed and replaced with concrete curb. It’s a neat process! First, the asphalt pavement immediately adjacent to the curb (about two feet wide) needs to be saw cut and then removed. Then when the new curb is installed, the roadway asphalt will be restored. The photo shows how cleanly the cut is made in the pavement. Also on site is a pavement milling machine! See the attached photo of the milling machine in action! Milling means removing the upper layers (or all of) pavement through a large, rotating drum that removes and grinds roadway layers. Stay tuned for more updates! #McKinleyTotLotNotes
