On Friday, June 2nd, Mayor Byrne and Council President Benjamin Hover hoisted the Lansdowne Flag bearing the coat of arms developed for the 100th Anniversary of Lansdowne. Afterwards, the LBPA and the businesses of Lansdowne celebrated with the Night Market. A little rain couldn't keep the spirits down.
On Saturday, June 3rd residents enjoyed Lansdowne's inaugural Community Day with a Community Bike Ride and demonstrations by the Lansdowne Police Department and Sweet and Sour Circus. Special thanks to Representative Gina Hackett Curry for stopping by and supporting the numerous community groups: Lansdowne Legion Post 65; Boy Scout and Cub Scott Pack 63; Girl Scouts; CC's School of Dance Arts; Lansdowne Fire Company; the Lansdowne Public Library; Children of Angels Grief Support Group; Lansdowne Neighbors Club. We want to thank WSFS for generously donating free ice cream for the event as well.
On Sunday, June 4th, Councilmember Jayne Young led a group of intrepid walkers on an informative historical tour of Lansdowne.
