On June 6th, 1893, the Borough of Lansdowne was formally incorporated out of Upper Darby Township, which allowed the residents to self govern under the rules of an incorporated Borough.
In 1993, Borough Council adopted a coat of arms created by a local Lansdowne resident for its 100th Anniversary. Also, numerous Lansdowne residents created the Centennial Quilt, which hangs in Borough Hall.
In 2018, Mayor Campuzano and then Councilmember Magda Byrne spearheaded numerous activities to celebrate the 125th Anniversary including the Lansdowne mural currently overlooking Borough Greene.
This past weekend, Lansdowne Borough celebrated with a flag raising of the Lansdowne Flag by Mayor Magda Byrne and Council President Benjamin Hover. Celebrated with a Night Market hosted by the Lansdowne Business and Professional Association and a Community Day and a walk of Historic properties. Thank you to all who participated and volunteered.
Happy Anniversary, Lansdowne! To another hundred years.
