From the Mayor

Mayor Message (1)

Hello Lansdowne! Happy New Year to all of you! I am looking forward to a healthy and prosperous new year for all.

This past holiday was magical in Lansdowne (as it always is) and traditionally, I would be giving out the Jingle Judge Awards at our first council meeting in February.  However, everyone's homes were so beautiful that I gave out WAY more awards than usual….304 to be exact!! So this year, we are just going to mail your awards to you. Every time I give these awards out I say the same thing and I am going to say it again today - Thank you so much for adding to the festive spirit of the holidays.  To me, the holidays really show the heart and soul of this borough. Also, if a flashlight was shined into your home on any of the nights my elves and I were out viewing lights, we are so sorry, we were just trying to see your house numbers!! Please make sure your house numbers are lit and visible. It is not just important for me but for emergency responders should you ever need them.

The Campuzano Award - I am late again!! Eventually I am going to get these dates together!! For 2023, I am awarding the Campuzano Award to Marie Campuzano. Marie has been involved in many things throughout the year but the cornerstone of all her work is with the Lansdowne Library. It is my honor to give Marie this award at the Feb 7th Council Meeting.

January has been a rough month when it comes to weather. But we do our best to not let weather deter us from our scheduled activities! If you plan on attending some of these events, please be safe and dress warmly.

Lastly, to everyone, council and residents alike, congratulations on making it through the first month of 2024! I know that new council members, new leadership and big changes can sometimes be scary, uncomfortable and frustrating. I firmly believe that the men and women who volunteer to sit in a position like council, really pour their hearts and souls into serving this community and I have faith that great things are to come.

As always, feel free to reach out to me anytime with any questions or concerns. It is my pleasure to serve you. Email Mayor Magda
